"I was very interested in this project as I often paint on heavily textured surfaces but never on this scale. I had many ideas before deciding on the final composition. Christopher’s surface also reminded me of tree bark so a forest was also a high contender but in the end I felt the contrast against the bright white surf with cooler blues and greens really left the surface to stand alone as a large rock formation and occupy a shared 50/50 of the final piece created by Christopher and myself." - Leon Holmes
