2025

Kim Maple

Congratulations to Kim for winning the Claremont Art Prize with her work 'Family'. The Claremont Town recently invited all WA and local artists to submit an original 2D or 3D artwork concept across a variety of art forms, including oil, watercolour, ink, sculpture, and mixed media.

Luke Cornish & Christophe Domergue

Huge congratulations to our talented artists Luke Cornish and Christophe Domergue aka ‘Cornish and Domergue’.

Their artwork of Yvonne Weldon has been selected as a finalist in the 2025 Archibald Prize. The peeling was created from a significant site of Yvonne’s choosing (the old Paint Shop at the Eveleigh Railway Yards).

The site holds particular significance for the local Aboriginal community. It was the promise of work on the railway that brought a stream of Aboriginal people migrating from reserves across the state. Redfern became a flourishing urban Aboriginal community, a place where commonplace discrimination was less felt and fertile ground for the Aboriginal civil rights movement.

2024

Chris Martin

Chris Martin painted live at the 'Heart Kids - WA' Charity Ball, creating a stunning piece that was auctioned to support this worthwhile cause. The event featured gourmet dining, premier entertainment, live and silent closed auctions, raffles, door prizes, and more. The best part? All proceeds from ticket sales funded support for families affected by congenital heart disease.

Vania Lawson

Vania Lawson's artwork "FRAGMENTS" won the Highly Commended award at the prestigious 2023 Bayswater Art Award.

Inspired by the aftermath of a devastating bushfire that nearly consumed her property in Hovea, Perth, in 2014, Lawson captures the resilience of her community amidst destruction. Her poignant piece reflects on the enduring impact of the event, with fragments of embers symbolizing the lingering traces of resilience in the scarred landscape.
