Oil and cold wax on resin infused industrial peeling
"You would think that this would be right up my alley… texture, dirt and rocks, however this really did challenge me.
I had to work out how to preserve the canvas, allowing the background to shine through. I did not use a gesso prep, but rather placed my oils directly onto the canvas. I found the oils were quickly absorbed, so I had to do multiple layers with a fine dabbing technique, I then used cold wax to seal rather than oiling in.
I often walk the Meelup track to think and get inspired, so rather than the obvious Castle Rock I used the track at my feet for reference." - Roslyn Hamdorf
