Enamel paints and industrial resin infused peeling.
For this collaboration, I’m responding to the urban skin of Christophe’s “Peeling” panels, surfaces already charged with the grit, colour and memory of the street. Over my half-century of art practice, I’ve always been drawn to what lives at ground level: the overlooked, the resilient, the everyday poetry of place.
"Using enamel house paint in bright primary colours, I’ve let my ongoing cast of urban street and camp dogs pad across this highly textured terrain. They’re a motley crew you might find in the back alleys of any town, survivors, companions, witnesses, bringing warmth, humour and heart to an environment built from concrete, history and chance." - Christine Hingston
