As a young Australian artist, Josi spent all of her primary and high school years drawing obsessively. Despite being encouraged to pursue a more academic path in life, she found herself studying graphic design. It was there that she developed a deep passion for the technicality of art.
Surrounded by supportive lecturers and peers, she dove headfirst into the design world, using what she learned and applying it to her drawings. It was also here that she discovered her love for oil paints, after taking an art history unit and experiencing the marvel of classical artwork. Using this medium, she aims to capture the beauty of the world, employing sweeping brushstrokes and bright colours to evoke the presence of a subject.
