Collection: Greg Tothill

Born into a lineage rich in artistic tradition, Greg Tothill's family history is threaded with painters, potters, poets, and educators, rumoured to include ties to the 18th-century luminary, William Blake. Despite his mother's initial artistic promise, marriage and motherhood briefly redirected her focus. Yet, Greg's childhood was imbued with creative influence, spending hours drawing with his sisters.

Excelling effortlessly in art throughout school, Greg pursued night classes at Perth Technical College while working as a law clerk. Later, he transitioned to full-time studies in Graphic Design and Illustration at Curtin University, earning prestigious awards and becoming a lecturer.

Health issues interrupted Greg's design career, allowing for artistic maturation during a period of forced inactivity. As his health improved, he delved into plein air watercolours, marking the beginning of a successful artistic journey. With memberships, exhibitions, and sell out solo shows, he gained international recognition and amassed over 100 art awards, contributing to distinguished collections globally.

Despite facing obstacles, Greg's talent flourished, making him a sought-after artist for commissions. Painting, for him, is not just a form of expression but a source of healing, providing a meditative escape and a sense of accomplishment. Without painting, he feels adrift, highlighting its integral role in his life.
