Brian is a metal sculptor whose work explores the expressive potential of steel. Trained early in welding and later mentored by a blacksmith, he developed a deep appreciation for transforming metal into something delicate, expressive and alive.
Brian allows each subject to guide his material choices and his sculptures often combine metals to create contrast and narrative. Much of his inspiration comes from the creatures and landscapes of the Perth Hills where he lives and he continues to craft intricate, lifelike forms drawn from the rhythms of nature.
His recent focus on kinetic sculpture integrates engineering and art, using light and movement to bring his works to life. These sculptures respond to their surroundings, shifting with wind and shadow.
