"There’s No Place Like Home" is a kinetic sculpture that explores ideas of belonging, movement, and the fragile balance between shelter and freedom. Birds and birdhouses – symbols of migration and refuge – are brought together in gentle motion, suggesting the constant negotiation between the instinct to roam and the need to return.
About - Working with metal has always fascinated me but the opportunity to study with a blacksmith years ago sparked my imagination. I love the way this rigid, industrial material can be used to create something delicate and life-like. When sculpted, shaped and formed metal can convey power and movement or fragility and emotion.
My style is constantly evolving, using different welding techniques and a variety of metals so that each piece tells a unique story. Kinetic sculpture is one of my passions as I love the combination of engineering and artistic interpretation.
