This September, Yallingup Galleries is delighted to host emerging West Australian artist Noa Williams as part of Margaret River Region Open Studios 2026.
Running from 12–27 September 2026, Margaret River Region Open Studios gives visitors the opportunity to discover artists, studios and creative spaces throughout the South West. During the event, visitors to Yallingup Galleries can experience Noa’s distinctive mixed-media and print-based works and gain an insight into his evolving artistic practice.
Noa Williams
Based in Quindalup, Noa Williams is an emerging artist whose work brings together printmaking, drawing, collage, ink transfers and mixed media.
His layered compositions are influenced by everyday life, memory, Australian landscapes, surf culture, vintage imagery and found materials. Images and ideas are often distorted, repositioned and combined to create works that feel both familiar and unexpected.
Noa describes his work as being about layers "layers of life, motion, moments and thoughts", with individual images brought together to create new narratives.
His practice often begins with imagery sourced from old books, postcards, photographs, surf archives and his own photography. Through printmaking, collage and drawing, these elements are transformed into contemporary works filled with texture, movement and visual detail.
Contemporary Printmaking and Mixed Media
Printmaking sits at the heart of Noa’s practice.
Currently completing his art studies at the University of Western Australia, Noa works extensively with etching and printmaking processes, while also incorporating drawing, installation, collage and other techniques.
Rather than creating highly polished or rigid imagery, Noa is drawn to the energy of imperfections, unexpected marks and the freedom that comes from combining different processes.
His work reflects influences ranging from Australian punk culture and music to conceptual art, photography and the Australian landscape.
Visitors to Yallingup Galleries during Margaret River Region Open Studios will be able to explore works from series including Pangea and Holiday ’72, alongside other pieces from his developing practice.
