Confluence | Collaborative Exhibition at Yallingup Galleries

Yallingup Galleries is pleased to announce Confluence, a collaborative exhibition uniting the innovative practice of artist Christophe Domergue with a curated selection of Yallingup Galleries artists.

The title Confluence refers to the meeting of two rivers of approximately equal width, a metaphor for this exhibition where distinct creative streams, artists, materials, and approaches merge to form a shared visual language. At the centre of the exhibition is Domergue’s pioneering technique, Peelings — sculptural surfaces created by lifting layers of resin, pigment, and fibreglass from urban environments.

These peelings act as both artwork and substrate. For Confluence, Domergue will create a new body of peelings that are then reinterpreted by invited artists through their own individual practices. The resulting works form a dialogue between material and maker, where texture, translucency, and surface become sites of collaboration rather than authorship alone.

Technically, the peelings are exceptionally strong yet flexible, translucent when held to the light, and responsive to their environment. Their layered surfaces recall geological and organic formations, shifting in character as light moves across them. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor display, the works expand the possibilities of painting, sculpture, and installation.

Confluence runs from Saturday 28 February to Sunday 8 March 2026, with an opening night on Saturday 28 February at 5pm.
