Richard Jenkin lives and works in Dunsborough and has been working in the steel industry as a Welder/Fabricator for 35 years. Originally born in Cornwall in the UK, and moving to Australia with his wife in 2006.
Inspired by the challenge of adapting steel into visual statements, Richard has been creating sculptures as a hobby for the past 10 years. His work has been well received through local exhibitions, recently winning an up and coming artist award.
He believes the most challenging aspect of being an artist is visualising a concept and is open to new ideas and commissions.
His preferred material to work with is corten steel due to its aesthetics and longevity.
