Exhibition: Judy Prosser, Josh Windram, and Roslyn Hamdorf

Yallingup Galleries Exhibition Sat 9th Dec 2023

Yallingup Galleries is delighted to announce its festive Christmas exhibition, featuring the exceptional works of three distinguished artists:

Judy Prosser, Josh Windram, and Roslyn Hamdorf

The exhibition is set to captivate art enthusiasts from Saturday, December 9th, to Thursday, December 28th, with an opening evening scheduled for 5:00 pm on Saturday, December 9th.

Judy Prosser, a Western Australian native born in 1952, has been a devoted artist since childhood. Her artistic journey began at the tender age of 6, and she honed her skills at the Claremont School of Art, earning a Diploma in Fine Art in 1978. Judy's extensive travels across Australia, from the Kimberley to Kakadu and beyond, have inspired her to create breathtaking watercolours and gouache paintings. Her distinctive approach often incorporates figures dancing freely in the Australian landscape, reflecting her deep respect for the spiritual connection of the Aboriginal people to the land.

Josh Windram, known for his contemporary abstraction of the Australian landscape, brings a unique perspective to the exhibition. Drawing on personal experiences and emotions, Josh's paintings depict dramatic skies against rugged landscapes, utilizing contrasting colours and textures. Working primarily with acrylic paint on canvas, his intuitive approach results in powerful works that evoke a strong sense of space and beauty.

Roslyn Hamdorf, breaks down her landscape paintings into smaller rocks and grains of sand. Using acrylic as her favoured medium, she skilfully manipulates colours on canvas or board, creating textured and layered artworks. Roslyn aims to convey properties such as balance, tension, and erosion in her paintings, inviting viewers to sense the location or place despite the fragmented composition.

The Christmas exhibition at Yallingup Galleries promises a visual feast, showcasing the diverse talents and unique perspectives of Judy Prosser, Josh Windram, and Roslyn Hamdorf. Don't miss the opportunity to experience the beauty and creativity of these exceptional artists from December 9th to December 28th.
