 Krim Benterrak

Krim’s passion to paint is not just to fulfill his sense of place but also his sense of balance.

His landscape paintings inspire a connection through emotion. Krim has an affinity with the Kimberley landscape because it is still pristine and has had minimal impact by man. It has the purity and the beauty of a natural state. These are the same characteristics Krim believes an artist is trying to achieve with his work.

With both parents prominent local artists, Douglas received informal training that further inspired his passion to paint. At just nineteen he held his first solo exhibition. Gold leaf features heavily in his work and he uses only the finest quality gold leaf and paints. Sixteenth century gilding techniques are used to apply the gold.

  Gary Leathendale
'Into the Deep'
As a full time artist Gary has a strong belief in the empirical nature of art. As an advocate of plein-air painting he often endures the elements to capture coastal, river and wetland scenes with a strapped down easel in a storm. Working in a variety of genres and mediums allows Gary to constantly change and mentally flex his approach to painting.
