Ken Rasmussen grew up in Broome, Marble Bar and other Western Australian country towns prior to continuing his education at Scotch College and the University of Western Australia (B.A. Lit. and one year at law school.)  He subsequently completed a Bachelor of Fine Art at W.A.I.T. (now Curtin University), majoring in painting.  Since graduation he has painted professionally, gaining a reputation for drawing, watercolour and oil painting skills that place him in the forefront of realist-impressionist painters working today.

Inspiration for Ken’s new work, showcased exclusively with Yallingup Galleries, is the city and surrounds of Perth Western Australia.  His approach is to present the iconic landmarks and attractions in a new way.  In his paintings’ the artist’s focus is to create a co-existence between the painting and the drawing. As a leading realist-impressionist painter Ken Rasmussen has developed a contemporary style that captures the architecture and natural landforms unique to this city and surrounds.
