John Tilbrook is a timber craftsman who works exclusively in Australian timbers.

Renowned for his various timber creations, John is more widely known for the small wooden birds he makes using five thousand year old fossilised redgum timber to the eyes and beaks.  Buried and preserved in mud the timbers have been dyed an intense black colour in the process.

John applies a unique inlay process he developed to produce pieces that showcase the wonderful range of native timber colours and texture for their effect.
