Rudi Jass was always interested in design and when he arrived in Australia from Germany  in 1983, he found there was a limited selection of sculptures for the home in a contemporary design. So he started creating his own. This inspired a meeting with the sculptor Laszlo Biro and Rudi started what he refers to as a permanent apprenticeship with him. The years with Laszlo, combined with interests in industrial design and his technical ability as a former Porsch technician formed the base of the sculptures he creates today.

Rudi designs and makes water features and sculptures characterized by clean flowing lines, elegant forms and timeless designs. They are equally at home in small courtyards or amid the strong shapes of bold modern architecture in urban and commercial developments. He utilises stainless steel, corten steel and copper that are often combined with glass and stone in his distinctive style. All pieces are handmade in small or limited editions.

Rudi is not influenced by the commercial popularity of materials, preferring to work mostly with stainless and corten steel. He also incorporates elements of natural stone and glass. He is passionate about creating sculptures that have an extremely long lifespan and require very little maintenance.

He has produced numerous commission pieces and won many awards for his clever and innovative designs.
